Culture Series: Luis Barragán
Luis Barragán, a Mexican architect with deep interest in landscape architecture, embraced an architectural practice dedicated to the vigorous adherence to regional traditions. While his work has been classified as minimalist, his vivid use of color and texture is reminiscent of the traditional architecture of México. Barragán was drawn to horizontal and vertical planes that intersected gardens and open sky at right angles.
